Li Yi is currently an independent scholar and author of two books and
a dozen journal articles on Chinese society and culture. He received
his M.A. in Sociology from the University of Missouri—Columbia, and
his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Before coming to the United States in 1994, Dr. Li was an Assistant
Professor of Sociology at the Northwestern School of Law in China.
